Ritual Backlash and Ward

A question came up as we were discussing rituals.

If I have a CoP inside my Warded cabin and a ritual backlashes and does some effect to everyone "outside the CoP" is that effect restrained by the Ward. So those outside the Cabin would be unaffected?

I have seen this as those within line of sight of the ritual. If someone is outside of the cabin, warded or not, I would say it is up to the marshal to poke his head out and declare it. If they restrain it to just those in the cabin, that's fine too. Unless its summoning a pantherghast, then screw everyone outside of the circle I say :p

LOS effects explicitly pass through Wards. See e.g. Gypsy Curse. Similarly, a Web will not be brought down with the caster stepping through a Ward, so long as there is still LOS between you and them through the doorway.

If a ritual backlash specifies Line of Sight, it will similarly not be stopped by a Ward in the middle. Keep the door closed :)
