Cecil Cabal and Stahn Raven's Lieutenants

Lurin

Duke
I have had enough of both of these two. I have reached out to some allies and ensured that Arkemides will be at the next gathering and it's my intention to eliminate all five of these targets. As you can imagine I can always use more help so if you wish to be involved in any of these, even if it's just the scouting to help me find them, it would be most appreciated.

Lord Enan,

I'm happy to help you with any and all of these.

Lord Bluewater,

I know Cecil is powerful, and can not be killed by a Stake of Woe alone, he has always been greedy, and may be his undoing. He holds one thing more valuable than anything else, the first coins he ever acquiredn. A man wearing matching his desciption a black brimmed hat, silver hair, black attire and black cape was spotted by Ternian Adventurers a month back. However, he wasn’t alone. As strange as it seems, he was traveling with a Mummy. That was all my source could acquire, as in his own words, 'I had never run faster in my entire life after viewing those two together.'

Huh... Anybody else a little worried that Menra is gathering himself an undead dream team?

So far... A greater Lich, a mummy, and a master vampire... I know the jokes write themselves but tack on a Rage Death Knight and I'm starting to be concerned the town is in for a stomping.

Jehan W.

What? Menra is a mummy, Cecil's the vampire, who's the lich? Necromancy sucks, they just keep making more mean and evil people.

Lord Bluewater,

I'm the last person anyone would expect to stand up for these people, but - Stahn's men have committed no crime since the blanket amnesty was put into place. Nor before it, actually. They fought undead and escorted caravans. On what grounds would you go commit assault upon these men?

Eric Marsters

We have offered a Gift of Life openly to all undead in the Dreaming. The undead need to be killed and removed unless they accept the Gift. Now the Marheem Man is not dead but, stuck in the ground outside of the tavern, you can see his face and his eyes move. The Marheem Woman, I do not know their names will most likely show up to try to free her husband. Both willingly became vampires and they both need to be killed together. Cecil Cabal needs to have his 13 pieces of copper removed from him and a Stake of Woe before his progeny, Edgar Saban can be freed of his curse via a Gift of Life. Merna as a creature of legend who stole the true name of the Moon will require more than a Stake of Woe.

I see the extent of Stan's and his men's crimes as transcending the laws of men. Meaning that the laws of the kingdom are not codified to state: DO NOT MESS WITH THE FABRIC OF REALITY. But, messing with the fabric of reality could endanger the land.

They disrupted the planes so much so that if Lords of Fey, those who are tasked with turning of the seasons go to the anti-magic zone they die and cease to be. Such is a wrong that needs to be righted. I would be happy enough if we could convince Stan to take his men and go home while we fix Crestwood but, sadly I doubt that such an agreement will ever be met. I fear that this will go to blows. Has anyone checked on the alchemist that we rescued Eugene? He was terrified and stated that he would contact me but, he has not.

These are issues that we need to deal with. But, we need to make a list and prioritize then we can assign task to those who would best finish those task and resolve some issues.

Lady Fallingstar,

I humbly ask - where in the laws of Wayside does "Do not mess with the fabric of reality" fall? I didn't see them. So, without that, someone needs to get a warrant from a magistrate, charging them with a crime. "Transcending the laws of man" isn't a valid legal reason. Otherwise - wouldn't releasing a being that is going to enslave the world count under the same category? I don't like the fact we don't have a leg to stand on at this point when it comes to them, but it's a matter of time... just watch, and wait for them to slip up. That's what The Brotherhood has been doing. The blanket amnesty just made it harder.

Eric Marsters,

My point is thus: to disrupt the planes can have tragic effects upon the corresponding lands within the prime material plane. It should not be up to any Kingdom to have to spell out in their laws that one should not disrupt the planes to such an extent that the fabric of reality as we know it is altered. Usually the planes themselves send Elemental Lords to bring punishment or Order Elementals to write things the way that they were.

I have no legal say yet, I would think that such an act could be viewed as Treason as it endangers the land and the citizens of the kingdom. Lord Bluewater would be better versed on that than I. And I have been punished as the kingdom saw fit for what I did.

I agree that we need to do this right. Gather warrants, provided that the magistrates agree with us and if need be act in their stead with their permission in the matter of the Pure Lords. Has anyone spoken to the Baron of Crestdale? I have sent him letters but, I have not gotten a response. He was to be our point of contact but, I cannot reach him. I would think that with the Baron aiding us and the magistrates backing we can resolve this matter.

Lady Fallingstar,

Thank you for seeing my point. I want to ensure that they have no wiggle room, and do this right, leaving vigilante justice as a tool the adventuring community no longer uses.

Eric

What's a blanket amnesty? Is that like a blanket tapestry? So like, a big cloth thing? Is it warm?

~ Silp

Silp,

The King gave a blanket amnesty at the end of the civil war. What that means is, basically, any crimes committed before that point are forgiven, and could not be prosecuted.

Eric

Oh, okay! That makes more sense why the blanket amnesty matters right now. Thanks Eric!

~ Silp

Keeping in mind, the King's amnesty was for all crimes concerning the war. Not for all crimes.

Jehan W

Still, regardless of the amnesty - they haven't broken a codified law. So, unless we can get the magistratum on our side and our legal ducks in a row, attacking them would be assault. That is NOT something I want them to have over the adventuring community.

Um... Liddia...

Not to be rude, but you said Menra will take more than a Stake of Woe, I'm hoping you didn't mean that he also needed a stake of woe... Cuz Menra's a mummy... MAYBE WE HAVE TO BURN HIM UNTIL HE'S ASH! THEN HE WON'T COME BACK! I'M SO SMART, GUYS, WE NEED TO BURN MENRA!

Keeper,

I enjoy your enthusiasm and I believe that enough flame may work
. But, as he is a creature of legend we may need something more potent than regular flame.

Lady FallingStar

What if we summon a flame elemental so that it can burn him a lot for us? Does anybody have a summon foundation elemental scroll? I'll cast it! When we fight Menra again that is...

I don't think there's a special trick to killing a mummy. You just have to wear away their bottle/spirit and magical essence. For them, life is a replenish able resource but it's also not infinite.

So while mummy's are hardy they aren't impossible. Of course, better tactics might be required on the part of the whole town because he, apatow, and Azurdex wrecked us and caused about a 1/2 dozen deaths in one skirmish. While we managed to kill him... We had a 6/1 or so ratio... That's not sustainable over the course of 4-5 battles and let's be honest he's going to learn as much from fighting us as we from fighting him.

I imagine we will see a few more minor skirmishes to feel out, learn our strengths and weak points etc before we get a knockout punch.

We seem stuck in this idea that we will always have the advantage of choosing time and space for battle. We have had it for a long time. Sooner or later, one of these thousand year old geniuses will figure that out and then we might have a real fight on our hands.

Keeper, I'll see if the C guild can rustle up a flame elemental to aid us.
