After a long and arduous political slog, Xerxes sits down to his desk, the paperwork already piling up. Taking a couple hours, he shifts through it all and stands to refill his drink at the sideboard. Sitting back to his desk, he grabs a quill and pens a quick missive reading:
Grand Duchess Masterson,
After such timing and events I feel that the two of us should sit down and talk. If you would be so inclined, I would like to invite my family's estate to enjoy some food, drink and conversation.

Reading back over the note, the Marquis nods and summons one of his servants to take the note and present it to the Grand Duchess.

Once the servant leaves, Xerxes turns back to the letters and papers on his desk.
 
The servant returns with the Grand Duchess's reply, and the Marquis nods in thanks. Turning to the man, he speaks:
"Jareth, please have the meal prepared, and inform me immediately of her arrival. Make sure that any attendants accompanying the Grand Duchess have our fullest hospitality."
Jareth nods and leaves to carry out the orders. Darius sighs and puts his paperwork to the side, leaving his study to prepare for the arrival of his illustrious guest.
 
Arriving at the home of the Marquis, Victoria dismounts. Nodding to the men with her she says "I shall take Stig in with me." Knowing that they know what to do with themselves while she is inside, she turns towards the front door and nods for Stig to knock. Putting her hand on Roth's head as he stands next to her, she waits for the door to be answered.
 
*knock*knock*knock*
 
Opening the door, Jareth jumps when confronted by the large puppy. ushering the Grand Duchess and Stig into the house, the manservant summons a guide to show the rest of the Duchess's guards to the barracks for food and entertainment. Jareth turns to escort Stig and Victoria to a small dining room where the Marquis waits. Standing, the man moves to greet his guests.
"My friends! Thank you for accepting my invitation. I'm hoping that tonight we might develop some plans on how to best move forward."
At this point more servants enter the room bearing food and drink.
"Ah, good. Please sit, eat. we have much to discuss."
 
Victoria smiles at her host. She takes a seat and with a small hand signal Roth lays down on the floor by her feet. She leaves Stig to take a seat where he wishes. "Thank you for the invitation. I too look forward to a discussion on how we might work together for the good of all the people." She takes a sip of the drink poured while the servants continue to bring forth food.
 
The food is laid out in sumptuous style, with a roast beef taking the centre of the table. Helping himself to the meat and the roasted vegetables, the Marquis turns to the Grand Duchess.
"I must say, I'm very glad that the whole issue of High Ruler is resolved. it's nice to see the end of such a stressful situation. As it sits now, I'll be leaving for Shaundalar shortly to help prepare for the arrival of the Breachers. I would like to have you be part of the process, as they know you well."
 
Also dishing herself some of the delicious food presented, Victoria nods in agreement. "Yes, it is nice to have the matter concluded. We have lots that needs to be done, and now that we aren't all competing against each other we can get down to trying to work together." Taking a bite of the beef, she takes a moment to savor it as it has been prepared excellently. "I would be happy to assist you in any way that I can, it is true that I am a familiar face to many of them. What all needs to be done before their arrival?"
 
Taking a sip of his drink, Xerxes replies.
"Right now is simply a matter of logistics. Need to ensure that there are enough rooms for those who will be coming, as well as begin acquiring resources for any further moves."
 
"Indeed, you will have a good number of people arriving shortly. You say you would like me to be involved in the process, do you have a plan in mind of how I can be involved, how I can help?" She takes a sip of her drink.

The time passes quickly, as around bites of their meal, the two nobles discuss plans, ideas and the various logistics that are needed in the coming months. Sitting back as the staff clear the last of the dessert dishes, Victoria says "Well, I do believe that we are making progress. I am happy to be of assistance and look forward to working together. Visiting your Fort is also something that I am anticipating. Before I depart, was there anything else that you wished to discuss?"
