The Great Hunt

Good eve to all!

As we are but a night's rest away from our market, I thought it wise to offer some information for our next two days.

Every year, the High Orcs and High Ogres gather together and send teams onto an island that is abundantly full of all manners of creatures to hunt. This Hunt will determine who receives the blessings of the land in the terms of multiple Bountiful Harvests. While this can cause a slight issue in regards to the strength of the tribes, it is a matter of honor and pride which must be adhered to.

While we are there, the Isle (which is somewhat sentient), will keep track of the creatures we defeat and their strength in regards to others on the Isle. The team with the largest point total will be claimed the Victor. Unless things change, we will be an extra team in support of the High Orcs.

Please understand, we will be moving rather quickly throughout the day as each path we take will have us encountering a variety of monsters or individuals. We will take water/rest breaks as needed and each day's gathered treasure will be held as a town auction during the dinner time.

I look forward to seeing everyone on the boat tomorrow morn!

Ser Stormwolf,
May I ask why are we supporting the High Orcs and not the High Ogres. Or not both if possible. Why pick one over the other. Can we represent ourselves, and when we win, decide how to divide up the winnings amongst the 2 groups. Just trying to grasp the understanding behind our stance.

Thanks

Nyio,

Excellent questions!

The High Ogres and the High Orcs are each responsible for keeping a certain faction of creatures in check. The High Ogres keep undead in check while the High Orcs keep Fae in check.

As we have had a much large surge in Fae activity, the town voted last year to help reset and strengthen the High Orcs.

As for us representing ourselves and passing out the spoils of war as we see fit, it is to my understanding from the High Shaman of the Isle that only a single location can be targeted for these Bountiful Harvests. Also, from speaking with each of the Tribes, their pride will not allow for such an event to occur.

The good thing about this we learned is we are more than able to provide extra food to the losing side as that is a sign of respect and thanks for all the Tribes do. It provides them with a way to keep their honor intact.

I hope this helps!

Yes this certainly helps. Thank you for the clarification!
