The firepit

Kai is still lying in the dirt, curl up in a ball, beside the firepit. She is silent and motionless. The rain turns to drizzle, and then back to rain again. She doesn't respond to any of her friends calling her name. As the precipitation continues, the saturated dirt around her starts to becomes slightly muddy.

Evo comes when he finds out where Kai is, and gently wraps his heavy cloak around her. He sits her up, and pulls her arm over his shoulder. "Come on, little fox. Let's get you home." He lifts, and slowly takes the fox kin back to the cabin.
