Squire's Meeting

So that there are no conflicts with the Ducal Tournament, please note that we will *not* be having a Squire's Meeting on Saturday morning in Fairdale.

--- Baron Ivan Drake of Blythedale

Your Excellency,

I would have enjoyed participating as guard and listening to the meeting this coming gather. If we can find some spare time during the course of the Tournament, I would very much like to speak with you regarding the Code. I hold your opinions of our just tenants in very high esteem.

Sincerely your friend,

Man-at-Arms Flint Boulderback, Vex Squad "Rock of Trellheim", Legion D

Me too! Well, in listening at least. I have a lot of questions about it cus maybe someday if I'm allowed and good enough and understand these things that maybe I can maybe become a sq-...squi...squire too!

If I live long enough to.

How unfortunate. I have come to enjoy the meetings though I usually only see one or 2 actual squires in attendance.

Man-at-Arms Flint, Mischief and Wizard Nathan,

I'm always happy to engage in a discussion of my favorite topic: The Code of Chivalry. We do not need a formal meeting to have a conversation about the tenets. One of my favorite things in life is patroling the trails in Fairdale whilst talking about the Code and how it relates to life's decisions.

Baron Ivan Drake,

Perhaps if we find ourselves with free time to stroll about then, we shall. I am also eager to hear your thoughts on my updated proposal regarding the Repentance Ritual i sent you some time ago. We have not had a chance to discuss it at length because of all of the chaos of the last few gatherings.

If you can't find me, look near the Guild. Aloysius instructed me to keep an eye on things this gathering as he tends to some buisness.

My Baron,

I would gladly aid you in this walk through the countryside and talk on the COde

There's a Repentance Ritual? Does it make you not be evil?

That's kind of Neat. I guess it would be like the Celestial Version of the Gift of Life maybe?

-Mischief

Mischief,

I don't believe I have ever had the pleasure of meeting you, but perhaps that will change this gathering.

The Repentance Ritual is a concept Baron Drake asked me to look into some time ago. It does not exist so far as we know, though my search continues...

For those interested, the general concept behind it would be that it function like a Vision Ritual, excpet it be cast upon a convicted criminal. They would then see or perhaps even experience the crime(s) they have commited in hopes to give them new insight as to the ramifications of their deeds. One would... hope... they would then choose to repent for their crimes and choose to follow a new path, one more atune with the Code.

This form of "punishment" would be freely chosen by the convicted as a substitution or suppliment to another punishment. And though the ritual itself, or something similar to it, has not yet been found, I am looking into other ways that such an act could still be carried out. Perhaps with the aid of those races who have abilities of the mind beyond my comprehension. To be frank though, it is all just speculation and fancy for now. But I find the concept intriguing, so perhaps I will one day find a way to bring the Baron's idea to life.

I would be glad to help you if you would like. I am quite adept at showing someone thier past memories. I can only show them the deeds tho, for the emotional pain that would be needed for any "punishment" you would have to seek out a Stone Elf. You should talk to me more about this. I will be at the tourney.

Till the Full Moon is no more,

Something Man-at-Arms Flint said has caught my attention on other occasions from other people and I'd like to mention it. When referring to the Code of Chivalry, it's parts are called "tenets". I have seen many people use "tenants", as the good Man-at-Arms did. The parts of the Code of Chivalry are not residents of a boarding house. I mention this not to poke fun at anyone, but merely for the edification of the people at large.
