Unbounded,

Once again we ask what you will have the Legion look into. Time is short, you have until Wednesday to decided. Many of our resources are dedicated to the ongoing war and tracking the movements of the Light.

Dukane

P.S. been told that I should use my title in these correspondences... Roadbuilder Dukane

We are being very thankful to the Legion's efforts, good Roadbuilder, and your continued aid. After discussing amongst ourselves, we would request that your forces investigate the tactics, capabilities, and perhaps the source of these bandits harassing trade caravans bound for Whitehaven.

Graciously yours,
Ritter Spinner von Candleglass of Whitehaven
(but please call me Secretary, as my friends do)

Scouting Report: Forest Fiends (also called The Mosaic)

General Description
The group known locally as the Forest Fiends, sometimes referred to as The Mosaic, are bands of Blight-infected dryads operating along wooded travel routes. Their activities primarily target lightly guarded caravans and isolated supply groups. Reports indicate they show a particular interest in food shipments and building materials, though they will seize any supplies deemed useful.

Tactics and Behavior
Ambush Specialists:
The Fiends favor quick strikes against small or underprotected groups. They rarely commit to prolonged engagements.

Deception:
Some encounters begin with Fiends posing as injured or stranded travelers, attempting to draw caravans into conversation or reduce their guard before attacking.

Rogue-Style Combat:
Most members fight with hit-and-fade tactics, striking from cover and attempting to isolate individuals.

Blight Manipulation:
Certain members possess the ability to channel the Blight directly, producing effects that: Silence victims, Enfeeble or Drain targets, and spread corruption during combat

Tree Rift Movement:
All known Fiends can rift between trees carrying even minor traces of Blight infection, allowing them to reposition quickly or escape pursuit.

Disposition Toward Victims:
They generally do not seek unnecessary slaughter.

Victims who cooperate or surrender supplies are often spared.

However, downed combatants may be killed if resistance continues or the Fiends feel threatened.

Major Threat Variants

Blight Knights
Large dryads fused within massive suits of corrupted armor.

Capabilities:

Tremendous physical strength; capable of killing or destroying a body with a single blow

Strikes may spread corruption

Rare reports suggest victims may be transformed into Blight beasts

Assessment:
Extremely dangerous frontline units typically deployed when the Fiends expect resistance or wish to overwhelm a caravan quickly.

Blight Blades
Dryads whose bodies are filled with twisted metal shards resembling countless daggers.

Capabilities: Specialized assassins and disruptors, ambush from behind or from concealment, and some attacks may cause instant death or severe corruption

Can command Blighted roots to erupt from the ground and pin victims in place

Assessment:
High-priority threat. These creatures excel at breaking coordinated formations and eliminating key defenders.

Overall Threat Assessment
Mobility: Very High (tree rifting)
Ambush Capability: Very High
Numbers: Unknown, but typically operate in small coordinated cells

Escalation: Presence of Blight Knights or Blight Blades indicates a planned attack rather than opportunistic raiding
