On the stroke of midnight upon the New Year, the entity known as Shar Zaal caused a number of magical anomalies to appear across Gavaria. These anomalies are easily recognizable by sight and take the form of a swirling sphere of pink rings of energy. The entity Shar Zaal spoke on the subject of Time during its words on the New Year, and through experimental interaction by designated Court Wizards and Healers, it has been determined that these spheres of magic are the actions of Shar Zaal attempting to encroach on reality and are somehow distortions in time itself. Contact with these “Encroachment Events” of Shar Zaal has resulted in transportation to alternative versions of history resulting due to a change in past events.
These Encroachment Events of other versions of history are an unprecedented phenomenon and pose a significant danger to public safety and reality as we know it. The general populace is ordered to exercise extreme caution around these Encroachment Events; for your own safety, please do not approach or interact with these spheres of magic and please report their locations to the nearest military outpost as soon as any are discovered so that they can be properly contained.
Her Majesty has dispatched Royal soldiers to all five Duchies to assist in coordinating local armed forces to properly locate, secure, and interact with these Encroachment Events as is determined necessary. Research measures are currently being undertaken to determine the nature of the Encroachments and how best to remove them, and it is currently believed that such can only be accomplished from within.
To that end, Her Majesty has granted approval for the five Ducal Militias to work in tandem with both the Blackmoon Sentinels and the Adventurers of Atupal to coordinate experimental excursions into the Encroachments. If you are a member of one of these communities and are interested in assisting with these excursions, please keep an eye out for posted notices from Ducal Militias for available opportunities and report to those locations indicated by the notices to receive further instructions. The Kingdom will offer various material rewards to those capable of removing any Encroachment Event(s) from the countryside.
