Deadline!!

Traverse City Staff
The pre-reg deadline is fast approaching for our upcoming event!

Remember that to be considered pre-reg'd and avoid paying the at-the-door price you must send me a completed pre-reg form from our website and have your character transfered to me by midnight the Monday before any event. That is this Monday 5/19/08 @ 12:00 midnight for our 5/23/08 Extended.

You MUST have BOTH documents to me by the deadline or you are NOT pre-reg'd!

This policy has been in place for over a year now. Please take heed as there will be NO exceptions!

Thank you,

Beverly,

You state here that pre-reg is necessary to avoid paying the extra $ at the door. That has been clearly stated and we accept that. I wasn't aware, however, that pre-reg is necessary in order to play at all. I have never, in any other chapter, heard of anyone being discouraged from comingo out to play because they had not pre-reg'd.

When Mike and I went downstate to play, we got there well after game on. Tom Andary, without any complaint, got us through logistics.
Yesterday, in Traverse City, we were told that there was no use in our coming out to the event, because we had not pre-reg'd and there was not that much time left in the event. This was at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday. We were at that point in the car and on our way to the event. We had called ahead to let logistics know we were coming. Mike had spoken with Matt earlier in the week, letting him know that we were going to try to make the last day. Missing the event was not nearly as dissapointing as the total lack of caring and customer service. Especially towards a person who has been one of the chapter's leading volunteers and supporters. Good luck to you in keeping your "staff" positions filled.

Yes and from someone who's done logistics there, it's a pain in the butt! It really works on the honor system of letting players take their own tags because it's easy to get shorthanded real quick in that type of situation. I don't understand why they don't require pre-reging. It makes the whole thing quicker and much more efficient.

Incase no one knows you can see the full policies of alliance TC here (http://www.alliancetraverse.com/alliance/new_page_1.htm)

This will tell you what happens if your pre-reged. Please dont compair chapters since SM is fairly new, and TC has had the same rule for a rilly long time. This is not politics, rules do not magicly bend to the highest bidder.

With much :D love Meeker.

Mike,

I know your trying to help but... in this case... consider staying out of it. Your not going to help the situation out by attacking the points above and your not making Matt and Bev's job any easier.

I don't want you to take this as an attack on you at all. Its just a bit of advice.

Paul,

I appreciate your effort to help. For the record, this was MY post. I signed my name to it, and Mike had nothing to do with it.

Arlene

Arlene,

I was not saying you would post on behalf of Mike or that he would even ask you to. My words were intended for Meeker asking him not to further enflame already frayed emotions and allow Matt and Bev to try to work them with you if they can be.

Sincerely,

Paul

Oops ... thank you Paul. I'm so used to using Meeker's last name that I forget what his first one is.

To put it out there, there was a lot of poking and prodding done here that was less than comfortable for some people. I missed not seeing you guys at the event and was looking forward to rolling with you for a while since I hadn't seen Mike in a while. I was upset to hear that you had turned around and weren't coming. As for the logistics, Matt may have been informed that you were possibly coming, but to defend him a little, he was over his head in stuff. The NPC staff this last weekend busted their butts to give us a fun weekend with what few they had (I believe the max at one point was 4 or 5...2-3 at a time stepping away from PC'ing to NPC and give Matt and Bev a break). It was a relaxing weekend and i still had a LOT of fun doing what they had planned, but in order to keep their players from causing problems, they spent a good majority of the weekend away from Logistics. I can understand a little that you were upset that they didn't have stuff for you, but they definitely had good reason behind not being fully prepared.

I look forward to seeing you guys at the next event, I had a blast this weekend and can't wait to see what's coming next time (assuming the pocketbook will allow the travels).
