Greetings, Alliance players!

As you probably know, Alliance has been working to update its rules for the last few years. In that time numerous proposals have been discussed, vetted, and passed by the Owners. These rules have been playtested (first in small invite-only groups, then in a larger anyone-may-apply Beta format) since fall of 2015, resulting in significant changes due to feedback and player response.

Our initial period for closed playtesting and private evaluation has now passed. This means that we're opening up the proposed 2.0 rules to the general public so they can start getting an idea of the changes coming down the line. You can download the current Playtest Packet and read over what's currently under discussion among the Owners and Playtest Coordinators, and hopefully (if you haven't already) join in some of the organized Playtests yourself to give additional feedback on how the rules are looking.

We encourage players to read over the proposed 2.0 rules (as summarized in the latest Playtest Packet) so they can start getting used to the changes. This forum is open for discussion among the playerbase around the changes. As with any of the forums here, please be polite and respectful of other players' views. Keep in mind that several years of effort has gone into the proposed rules. If something's in there, it's probably for a good reason and has had numerous rounds of discussion already.

We want more feedback from players about the proposed rules! That said, we also firmly believe that many of the proposed rules are best evaluated "on the field" during organized Playtests. Due to this, we will accept feedback via the standard Feedback Form in each Playtesting round only from players who attend an organized Playtest with a Playtest Coordinator from their chapter. If you are unable or unwilling to attend Playtests but still want to give feedback about the rules, we encourage you to contact your Chapter Owner directly. Please note that ARC will *not* be actively monitoring this forum; feedback on each round of Playtesting needs to come from the Feedback Form, Playtest Coordinators, and Owners.

There is no current date set for final implementation of the 2.0 rules. Once the Owners are satisfied with the 2.0 ruleset, a go-live date will be determined and announced. All games before that date will be under the current 1.3 Alliance Rulebook, while all games after that date will be under the new 2.0 Alliance Rulebook, which will be prepared and published well before the go-live date.

Thank you,
Bryan Gregory

Good evening Playtesters!

I wanted to give an update on the current status of ARB 2.0. At this time, we intend for there to be 2 more playtest rounds: one from January through the end of March, and a final round after Symposium ending in late summer. At that point, if the Owners are satisfied with the state of 2.0, we will begin working on the rollout.

Thanks,
Bryan Gregory
