In the case of a free rewrite after 1 event, I guess you can demand a race change. It would be cooler, I think, if plot lets you bend the rules so that there is a race change in the character history since there you have an IG explanation. This is especially true if only your race is changing...

I agree that we should not change the existing races. But the idea that races should allow more players to be all they can't be, which is what I got from the OP, still seems worth considering in the future.

To clarify, I think the OP's idea that more races should be accessible to more people made sense. For example, races requiring prosthetics but no make up would be cool. It's too late for half ogres though. Perhaps accessibility would be worth keeping in mind if more races get added in the...

I am sincere (maybe not ingenuous, certainly not disingenuous). The rulebook may not say "James Trotta can never play a half orc, a half ogre, a sarr, a gypsy, etc." but I will never play one of those races. When I say my options are limited, I am being honest with you. It would be nice if...

I think the idea that as many races as possible should be accessible is sound. Right now, someone like me who won't wear makeup or masks or talk silly has only a few racial options.

Totally valid as long as you realize you don't have to put everything you enjoy into one character. If you enjoy alchemy, slays, lifes, and throwing prisons, you're probably better off with 2 or 3 different characters.
