Page 82 of the rule book gives lengths for short and long bows.

My question is: Do I measure where the string would go, or around the curve of the bow?

Obviously the length across the curve is going to be longer than the strait line tip to tip, which would change the size of the bow.
 
It is the length along the curve. I can't find chapter and verse, and if someone can find something that contradicts this please tell me, but all weapons that are curved are measured along the outside of the curve to the best of my knowledge.
 
I distinctly recall hearing the exact opposite of that when measuring crossbows for length.
 
Well, that certainly makes sense. :p
